Sands of Time

“What a folly it is to dread the thought of throwing away life at once, and yet have no regard to throwing it away by parcels and piecemeal.“  ~~John Howe

I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. There was a time when I looked forward to checking in on Twitter but that time is long gone. It didn’t happen overnight but rather a slow and steady feeling of irritation building up over the past year. It used to feel like I was at a lovely dinner party where there was a great flow of conversation and wonderful new people to meet. Now it feels like I’m in the middle of a convention of carnival barkers. Not to mention the incredible amount of spam and loss of civility.

It’s time for me to concentrate on the projects at hand along with those that are still sitting on the proverbial shelf. Time is too precious.

Speaking of which, it’s time for me to head to the barn. Nolan is coming today to trim horses. I think he will be amazed by Ritz’s progress over the past six weeks.

Keep On Truckin’

“We are alone, with no excuses. That is the idea I shall try to convey when I say that man is condemned to be free. Condemned, because he did not create himself, yet, in other respects is free; because, once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.” ~~ Jean-Paul Sartre

Thinking…

August 2nd, 2009

I’m still here. My perfectionist side is trying to iron out the programming kinks. My head and heart is battling over the direction of my blog. Think they’re coming to an agreement. Time will tell…

First Harvest

The cherry tomatoes once again beat the heirloom tomatoes. They are so cute! Still waiting on: cucumbers, bell peppers, six varieties of hot peppers, four varieties of watermelons, okra, onions and artichokes.

I also planted asparagus this year for the first time. It is such a beautiful plant. I cannot wait until next year to harvest our first crop.
