firstharvest

The cherry tomatoes once again beat the heirloom tomatoes. They are so cute! Still waiting on: cucumbers, bell peppers, six varieties of hot peppers, four varieties of watermelons, okra, onions and artichokes.

I also planted asparagus this year for the first time. It is such a beautiful plant. I cannot wait until next year to harvest our first crop.

ritz

Ritz and I are going to make it through this. I finally believe 100 percent that we have beaten the founder beast down.

My original intention for this blog post was to go in to detail about Ritz’s valiant fight with founder. That post is coming. The details are important.

Right now, I just want to exhale and celebrate his courage and trust in us.

Life is so funny sometimes. The right people show up at the right time if your heart and mind is open.

With heartfelt gratitude…thank you Nolan

Miss Franny on her birthday

I am new to blogging and WordPress. I’ve spent most of every free moment today tinkering (read blowing up) the blog trying to figure things out and make it all work better.

Back tomorrow with a new post after the trimmer comes to take care of the horses. Hopefully I will have some great photographs to share.

Welcome! Come on in!

What better way to break in a new blog than by throwing a little dirt and mud around. Thanks to the much needed rain this weekend we just happen to have a nice muddy bog to play in.

We’re not done yet…

A bit more and now we’re feeling good!!

There. Broken in always feels so much better to me than new and stiff.

You might be asking yourself..hmm what in the world is this blog about. Well, stick around and we’ll find out together!

I can tell you we’ll be spending a lot of time outside. Oh and we will definitely be talking about horses, pups and kitties. I think we’ll visit the garden a time or two and maybe hang out with theĀ  family.

Do you love food? I love to cook. I see my kitchen in our future. Did I ever tell you that I play the sax? Bassoon too. Have a couple of guitar players around here. Definitely will be some music happening.

Most of all I hope we have fun. Thanks for stopping by!
